Boobies & Other Quotes
Welcome to the first post at Things My Child Says, a site devoted to mommy bloggers, daddy bloggers, and anyone who gets a kick out of the crazy things that children say.
The goal here is to provide you with a daily dose of funny, interesting, sweet, or just plain silly things that children say. If you want to learn more about this page, check out the details here. Or, you can If you’d like to submit your children’s quotes.
This is a new site, so I’d love it if you can help spread the word. Remember, the more people who are involved with Things My Child Says, the more entertaining quotes I can bring you each day!
I’ll kick things off with a quote from my son (which my wife will probably cringe over) and then follow up with a couple more from some blogging mommy and daddy friends who contributed.
And now, the quotes!
1. My two year old, E, was telling me about his day when he said the following gem:
“I saw boobies… I saw mommy’s boobies.”
2. My four year old daughter, Mia came down the stairs saying:
“I can’t sleep I’ve got too much on my mind.” And when I told her to go back to bed she said, “Well don’t blame me if I’m in a bad mood tomorrow.”
3. My youngest son (6), whilst appearing to be a cold hard killer, is actually a kindly soul and very thoughtful. He cares for the feelings of others and is very concerned that people should be treated well. One day, out of nowhere, he exclaimed,
“Daddy, girlfriends are not like pets, you can’t just choose one, they have to choose you too.”
How true son, how true. A wise head on such young shoulders.
I’m very proud.
Thank you for stopping by! Come back tomorrow for more quotes. If you have a quote you’d like to see, please see our submission guidelines.

This is going to be a lot of fun…but, please honey, keep my under”things”out of it!
I love you.
Hi. I really like your idea of devoting a blog to this. There must be an unending supply of funny material out there for you. I wrote a post on my own offspring’s contributions to this very subject last September. Here it is, if you’re interested: http://areyoureceivingme.com/2009/09/10/parenting-skills-or-unskills/
What Mia said rang a bell, as I had many nights of difficulty sleeping when I was that age, and it felt like my mind was spinning and spinning and wouldn’t calm down even though I wanted to. In my case the cause was a sensitivity to certain foods (tomatoes and apples being the most obvious). It wasn’t an allergy and I’m not aware of any medical tests to detect it even now. Don’t know if that’s the case for Mia, but if the situation repeats itself you might want to keep note of what she ate that day and see if any patterns emerge.
